Throughout the Henri IV rehearsal and performance process, actors and designers will be blogging their thoughts and experiences reimagining Shakespeare’s history plays within a matriarchal society.
In the first post, director Kevin Finkelstein discusses the roots of this idea and what he’d like audiences to take away: “we want them to walk out thinking about the world, the society they live in. Recognize how some things are taken for granted and recognize the challenges others face.”
Actors Annette Wasno, Lisa Hill-Corley, Briana Manente, and Claire Schoonover also weigh in on the what it’s been like changing these male roles to female.
