Every month, Artistic Director Charlene V. Smith will be reading an early modern play and posting her thoughts about it. You are welcome to join along, read the play, comment, and let us know what you think.
This month she’s chosen the history play Perkin Warbeck by John Ford. Perkin Warbeck was a historical figure – a pretender to the throne who claimed he was the younger son of Edward IV. Shakespeareances will know this character as one of the princes that Richard III has murdered. You can find the play in the Oxford collection ‘Tis Pity She’s a Whore and Other Plays by John Ford, or you can locate texts online through archive.org or Google Books. Check back on October 31st for the blog post.
