William Shakespeare's

A Midsummer Night's Dream

November 14 – December 7, 2014
In repertory with The Two Noble Kinsmen

The misadventure of their own eyes kills ’em.

Performed in repertory, the well-loved comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream and the rarely produced The Two Noble Kinsmen interrogate what lengths we will go to for love and what happens to those who get left behind. Both stories take place in the realm of Theseus, who has to decide how to manage young men rivaling for the attentions of a single woman.

The caliber of acting from Brave Spirits is superb; which is even more impressive considering all of the young cast members perform in both plays. Each is perfectly suited to his or her character.

Molly Cox, Brightest Young Things

The company’s Pyramus and Thisbe is, naturally, the highlight of the show, a successful showcase for a crew of very well developed supporting characters.

John Dellaporta, DC Theatre Scene

When the amateur theater troupe performs its hysterical play-within-a-play in the last act, and the watching protagonists make Mystery Science Theater-esque barbs from the audience, Brave Spirits and the Bard are hand-in-hand, laughing off any pretentions. This is frivolous forest fun; just go with it.
